BOY Shaped HOLE.

The eleven year old boy has gone off on a two day sleepover school camping trip with his whole class. He's going to romp in mud, rope swing into a lake and burn marshmallows over a camp fire. He'll be with all his friends (except the one who had his appendix out) and having a blast!

So now I have a boy shaped hole. And I'm not the only one...

The dog misses him too.

  2. :::HUGS::: (I know it can't fill in that space, but it can squeeze you tighter around it.)

I often tell people (usually after being asked if we ever plan to give Ash a sibling) that Ash fills our life. It's true. ...And even when he's just off at school for that chunk of hours -- much as some of me looks forward to that break -- there's always another part of me which feels the ache of his absence.

  5. This is how my entire family feels when the 4yr old goes to Grandma's for the weekend. Hubby and I and the twinsies are LOST.

  6. Chunky Mama - Yep. Lost. It's so much quieter....hard to get used to. Part of me keeps checking to see if he's there.

  7. Ohhh! I know that feeling! My kids are wild and all over the place so I know exactly where they are all the time-except...when it's their time with Dad. And that hole? It sometimes hurts. A lot. I hug the cat and she snuggles me until the 2boy circus returns.

  8. I feel that way about Thursday if Hellbaby has not been over during the week for a visit. Not good, since she isn't even mine.

  10. Well, mine's 15 and I'm pretty sure he's having a good time at camp and I'm pretty sure I'd be having a lousy time if I were there, in 90+ degree heat...

Just think of the tales they'll have to tell when they get home.
