The AUTOGRAPH.

Last weekend the 11 year old boy went to the Montreal Comicon with his dad, The Huz. (I wanted to go too, but was attending the Gala thingie, alas.) The boy had it in his mind that he was going to get to meet Stan Lee, cuz, uh....Spiderman, duh. He'd saved his pennies from mowing the lawn and cleaning the car and forked out $50 just for this, on top of the ticket price.

The boy waited in line for three hours, and then...

All he could muster was a shy, "H-h-hi...?"

And then, drumroll please.....

TADAA!!

300 autographs in 45 minutes, and still smiling. Let no one wonder what this gentleman's superpowers are!

  2. Cute, cute, cute! See that drawing of your boy right there? That's what I'd look like if I ever met you.

BTW - when my alarm went off at 6:30 this morning, the kids had already been up for a half-hour and were watching My Life Me. They've all proclaimed it to be their favorite ever.

Now just who the smack do I petition to get it brought to the States? :)

  3. Stan Lee created the Marvel Universe.
...sort of makes him a god.
$50 for God's autograph sounds like a bargain!

  6. Steve - I've heard that too. The Huz and the boy saw him speak and take questions, reporting that he's extremely charming and open. So awesome.

JW - So.....you'd be 4 feet tall and dripping with sweat? Ha! That's great that the kids like My Life Me!!! I guess you could tweet/FB your broadcasters to let them know you want it.

  9. Cool post. I had my Comicon moment with Batman. My daughter was getting Adam West to sign her photo and trying not to cry. After he had signed her name and been very charming I said, "And from all your original fans, you are the one and only true Batman Forever." A tiny tear formed in Batman's eye, he asked my name, took my hand and said "Thank you." I shook his hand back and replied, "No, THANK YOU Batman." It was a stellar moment.
