Growth spurt.

When I was busy blinking, the fourteen-year-old boy grew. Again.

Looks like we're going to have to go shopping for some back-to-school clothes. Should I get two sizes larger than he needs?

  1. HAH!!! That is so the beginning of the school year happening. With my daughters it's pants...pants that are at their shins and not longer at their ankles. Capris are trendy now though, right?

    1. When I was a kid, my mom extended the lengths of my jeans with pretty fabric. I've done it with my son's clothes when he was smaller, but not sure he'd wear them now. He's growing so fast these days! I'm gonna hit the second hand shops.

  3. That's what I'm thinking too. The worst is shoes. "Wear two pairs of socks for a couple of months kiddo! ;)

    1. Definitely shoes are the worst. Trouble is they wear them out as fast as they grow into them.

  5. I totally buy everything too big, so I don't have to replace stuff quite as often. It's a habit and it's worked well for me. But then when the shirt does start to get too small or the pants are a little short, it feels like a HUGE shock because he's been wearing them for so long.

    1. I know what you mean. I love the softness of a favourite striped tshirt that doesn't fit him anymore. I can't bear to throw it away, though it's limp and faded and threadbare in spots....
