Rob Ford is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Space...the final frontier. And Rob Ford is certainly boldly going where no one has gone before. No one seems to know what to do with a Mayor who refuses to resign in the midst of an swirling scandal, and neither can they force him to leave. It's an unchartered galaxy!

I wonder if there's any corner of our planet that hasn't yet heard of the wacky Canadian Mayor of Toronto? Raise your hand if that's you!

  1. This whole thing just blows my mind. There is something very wrong with the system over there if city council can't eject him. What does he have to do, kill somebody! On the plus side (if we can really call it that), he's taken the country's attention off of Montreal's mayor woes…...

    1. From what I've been reading, hen the "system" was created, it didn't allow for the election to office of a person with such a staggering lack of honour. An honourable person would resign. Therefore the "unchartered" analogy.

    2. And at the moment, the only way they can legally get him out of office, is if he is convicted of a crime AND put in jail. He has to be unable to actually serve because he's literally in a jail. Or the province intervenes and creates legislation to limit his powers. Which I don't think they're willing to do.

  2. Is it just me, or does he resemble Chris Farley after a week long bender?

    1. You're not alone there. I see that comparaison all the time on twitter. People are missing Chris Farley a lot right now.

  3. The media is having a field day with Rob Ford. Being a Canadian, it is against what the world considers us: conservative, friendly, law-abiding folks. As a Calgarian, I feel sorry for people from Toronto because it casts a shade on a great city. BTW the references to Chris Farley resemblance and antics on SNL have been noted - good catch Blondefabulous! HOWEVER sad the situation is, JC's talent rises to the surface as she captures it all so succinctly!

    1. Thank-you for saying that Jeannette. I think many people cope through humor. I certainly do anyways.

  4. So I take it he's the Canadian equivalent of Marion Barry?

    1. Except that, as I understand it, Marion Barry resigned when caught.

  6. Perhaps you've heard the tale of our American mayor in San Diego who liked groping women. He went to therapy and thought he should just stay in office. I'm sure the aliens were confused.
